Claim: In Tamil Nadu, more than 4.7 million toilets were built, 12,000 villages were declared ODF, 3,000 km of roads were constructed, 2.7 million women have got smoke-free lives.
Fact: Partly true. Between 2014-15 and 2018-19, 2,300 km roads were constructed in Tamil Nadu, not 3,000 km as the PM claimed.

Explanation: As per Swachh Bharat Mission dashboard, 4.83 million toilets were built and 12,524 villages declared itself open defecation free in Tamil Nadu.
Only 2,300 km of roads were constructed in Tamil Nadu between 2014-15 and 2018-19, as per the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 700 km short of PM’s claims.
Some 2.79 million Ujjwala Yojana connections have been released in the state as of December 28, 2018. While the number of connections has increased, high prices of refill cylinders and safety concerns act as challenges to the scheme, Factchecker.in reported in May 2018.
